How To Recover a WordPress Backup

In the last episode I’ve shown you a hands-on tutorial on doing WordPress backups for free. This time it’s all about the recovery of those backups. Doing backups of your site is crucial, but they’re worthless if you don’t know how to recover them.

That’s why I’m walking you through the exact steps I’m using myself to recover backups of my WordPress sites (or of client sites). Since we’re not using any fancy programs and just minimal technology, this process is absolutely fail proof. If you’re backing up your site with BackWPUp, you’ll be able to use this process step by step.

If you haven’t listened to the last episode, I highly recommend doing so. Otherwise you might not understand how I was able to save my WordPress backup to Dropbox and how you can do the same.

The recovery process of the backup is straightforward, although a bit techy. I’ve tried to keep the video as low-tech as possible, but if I lost you, please leave a comment below or on Youtube. I’ll do my best to get you unstuck.
